[I]Kodak announced a new picture sensor targeted at mobile phones and they are promising better quality than ever.

Kodak announced it's brand new 5 megapixel sensor, with should achieve new levels of quality. The 1/4 inch sensor is built on CMOS technology. It's modified colour filter and colour-handling algorithm makes it able to have achieve better dynamic range and sensitivity than the usual CCD sensors. The TrueSense color sensor is enhanced with a new transparent sensor in addition to the usual red-green-blue combination. This does not help the colour definition, but it can accept the whole light-spectrum and due to this can have two or even four times better sensitivity for capturing colour intensity. The KAC-05020 sensor brings the ISO3200 level os sensitivity to mobile phones, which was unrealizable before. This can help a lot when making a photo with a hand held mobile phone in the dark. Kodak`s solution is compatible with the OMAP-TM and OMAP-DM chips, so besides the digital-stabilization and face-recognitioning, it's capable of recording videos with 1280*720 pixels resolution[/I].
