It looks like Motorola's extremely weak period inspires LG a lot. By overtaking Sony Ericsson and then Motorola, the Korean manufacturer became the third largest phone manufacturer on the world. The 27.7 million cell phones sold is a great result even if the average sale price dropped by 26% due to the situation on the market. LG had great results with its touchscreen models too, not only the conventional ones, as seven million have been sold of these. It is evident that LG Viewty, capable of slow-motion DivX video recording, is the most successful, as more than two million have been sold of this phone. The next one is LG Venus (1.6 million) and LG Voyager (1.3 million). In spite of the drop in handset prices the manufacturer managed to increase its income with 38.6%, compared to the same period last year, so they had a total income of 3.695 billion dollars.
