The Finnish manufacturer has an idea even more exciting than Haptikos.

The Finnish manufacturer has previously announced its touchscreen prototype called Haptikos, which can adjust its roughness with the help of proper control, and such the borders of virtual keys can be felt easily. The key of the solution is a liquid inside the display and an appropriately soft top layer that makes the liquid bulge when needed. The Finnish engineers, however, didn't stop here and have announced a completely new idea which makes it possible to create really bulging buttons on the surface of a touchscreen. The base of the idea is still a liquid inside the display, but this won't swell inly in tiny humps, but it might form larger units. The launch of solution, that is currently only a concept, is not expected in the near future.
