The Japanese-Swedish manufacturer's slim steel beauty has high-quality stereo speakers.

The Japanese-Swedish manufacturer has announced their T700 handset that has been previously known as "Remi", which takes the style of the once highly successful T610 to a new level. The brushed metal case and the 10 mm thicknes provide a premium feeling and this comes with a high-quality headset in matching color. It looks like Sony Ericsson has also recognized that the quality of the speakers in their handsets is not very good so their marketing material separately mentions that there are premium stereo speakers in T700, thus the sound of music is great in handsfree mode too. Otherwise there can be no complaints on music, as the handset features MegaBass bass boosting feature, stereo Bluetooth support and TrackID music recognition too.

As for the camera and the display, however, the handset might be a bit of a disappointment, as the 2" screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and the 3.2 megapixel camera with fixed focus are no high-tech stuff. The fact that EDGE and HSDPA are supported, that there is picture geo-tagging with coordinates and Google Maps based on cell information, along with the advanced organizer functions and the up to 9.5 hours talk- and 370 hours standby time bring the handset to the usual level. The only 104 x 48 x 10 mm large Sony Ericsson T700, weighing 78 grams, will be available in silver-black, red-black and shiny silver colors before the end of the year.
