Thanks to the cooperation between TomTom and Renault, integrated car navigation systems will be available at about 500 euros.

TomTom and Renault have signed a cooperation contract, and such many Renault models will be equipped with navigation systems at an affordable price. According to preliminary information the price of a fully integrated navigation system will be €500 EUR, but no exact details of the system that uses TeleAtlas maps are known. TomTom takes a lot of care of car navigation systems, for example they have greatly expanded their car engineer team. The first car equipped with a car navigation system is also tied to Renault; this has been tested by European journalists in 1994. "Today, Renault is partnering with TomTom to provide an up-to-date, fully integrated navigation system for approximately 500 euros." - so did Patrick Pelata, Executive VP of Renault, say. The great advantage of integrated car navigation systems is that their use with the car's built-in ergonomical controls is not only comfortable but also safe.
