Yep, but heavy-duty also. This phone wasn't designed for hot blonde chicks, or black suit business(wo)mans. This is a good choice for alpinists, or ppl who do heavy-weight works. They don't need a shiny cellphone, rather a tough one.

I'd rather use an Ericsson R310 or Nokia 6250 than this one if I were an alpinist.

Yup, R310 was a survivor all right. I dropped it from 15 feet, not even a scratch on it. When it was dirty, I just put it in the water. My uncle still uses it, he is the biggest challenge of all, but it still works after 5 years in his care.
However this thing looks like it wont last a year. Like a toy-phone.

I don't think its really heavy-duty. It looks a bit tough, but still I wouldn't lay it down on the ground in wet grass for example.
I'm still waiting for a real "survivor" phone like the much acclaimed r310.
